Trigger Conditions
Trigger this article when the user reports ANY of the following:
- The guide needle is stuck / retained in the arm after sensor application
- The guide needle cannot be removed
- The user asks whether it is normal for the guide needle to remain in the arm
- The user expresses distress, anxiety, or frustration about the guide needle being left behind
Output Content
Do not worry. Please stay calm.
If the guide needle remains in your arm after sensor application, this is usually caused by:
- Incomplete assembly of the sensor components, or
- The safety clip being removed too early (before the applicator is fully assembled and ready for application).
This situation can be managed safely. Please follow the guidance below.
Suggestions for Users
- Do not panic. The guide needle is designed to be removable. It will not cause harm if removed carefully.
- Why this happens:
- During assembly, if the safety clip is removed too early (before the applicator is fully assembled), or if the transmitter is pressed down prematurely and then reassembled, the guide needle may not retract properly.
- Prevention for future use:
- Do not remove the safety clip until after successful assembly, just before application.
- Before assembly, inspect the components and the adhesive patch. If anything looks abnormal, take photos and contact customer service for after-sales support.
- When assembling, press straight down firmly on a hard, flat surface (e.g., a table). This prevents misalignment or incomplete pressing.
- Avoid assembling while holding the device in your hands or on soft surfaces like beds or sofas, as this may result in incomplete pressing.
Important Note
This article is for explanation and reassurance only. If the customer also mentions any error message or app-related issue (e.g., "Sensor Failed", app error code, or any reading problem), please refer to the "Sensor Failed" article (which contains detailed photos) and provide that information together with this response.
